PIRRAMIMMA WINERY — SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Pirramimma Winery placed fourth in the “Best Australian Producer” category at AWC Vienna in 2021.
The winery also installed an ALGAEFREE ALPHA 4-Ways ultrasound system in August 2021.

All photos are genuine and were taken by Pirramimma Winery.

Picture no 1 is taken on August 23 when ALPHA starts the process to clean up the water.
Picture no 2 is taken after September 2  and shows how ALPHA is dislodging the algae.
Picture no 3 is taken September 6 and shows the way ALPHA is breaking down the algae into smaller clumps.
Picture no 4 is taken September 9 and shows the result with the ALPHA 4-ways Ultrasound System 3 weeks after first installation

WHY KEEP PAYING FOR COSTLY CHEMICALS?
Invest in ultrasound for long-term algae and biofilm control.

INTRODUCING THE ALPHA DB-360
Stronger, smarter technology for wastewater treatment plants.
ALGAEFREE’s new ALPHA DB-360 combines increased ultrasound output with higher frequencies, broader bandwidths and enhanced system monitoring.
Improved electrical conversion efficiency delivers greater ultrasound output. Selected models offer adjustable bandwidths, frequency settings and enhanced communication capabilities, providing greater flexibility and control.
Operational checks and error reporting help users monitor system function and identify faults.
The system uses Critical Structure Resonance (CSR) technology, designed to target susceptible algae and microorganisms through selected frequencies. Finer frequency adjustments expand the available treatment settings.

BUILDING ON ALPHA’S EXPERIENCE SINCE 2016
Since their introduction in 2016, ALPHA QUATTRO systems have offered a broad range of discrete frequencies and bandwidth settings for algae management.

ALGAE AND BIOFILM CONTROL FOR WASTEWATER PLANTS
The ALPHA DB-360 is designed to help manage algae and biofilm in wastewater treatment systems, supporting cleaner surfaces and reducing maintenance demands.
A one-time equipment investment and a chemical-free approach to algae treatment. Any reduction in chemical dosing should be supported by site testing and remain consistent with the plant’s treatment requirements.

360° HORIZONTAL COVERAGE WITH VERTICAL REACH
Specified ultrasound reach: up to 500 metres horizontally and 500 metres vertically, subject to site conditions, obstructions and installation.

ULTRASOUND IN WASTWATER TREATMENT

MANAGING ALGAE IN WASTEWATER AND RESERVOIRS
Excess nutrients in wastewater and reservoirs can encourage algae growth, affecting water clarity, increasing maintenance demands and, where toxin-producing species are present, creating water-quality concerns.
ALGAEFREE ultrasound systems offer a chemical-free approach to algae management, designed to help control susceptible algae and biofilm as part of a wider water-management strategy.
Solar-powered options allow operation where mains electricity is unavailable. Regular maintenance, suitable placement and adequate acoustic coverage are essential for effective treatment.

HOW IT WORKS
The ALPHA DB-360 transducer hangs beneath the SolaRaft float, transmitting ultrasound in 360° horizontally, with vertical coverage.
Its programmed frequencies use Critical Structure Resonance (CSR) technology, designed to target susceptible structures within algae cells.
By helping manage algae and biofilm, the system can support cleaner water and submerged surfaces and reduce maintenance demands. Results depend on the organisms present, water conditions and installation.
Ultrasound does not remove the nutrients that drive algae growth. Nutrient management remains important, and any reduction in chemical treatment should be supported by site-specific testing.
