VEOLIA 100m x 100m IRRIGATION DAM

INTRODUCING THE 2026 ALL-IN-ONE SOLAR FLOAT SYSTEM
Purpose-built for mining lagoons, this fully integrated system combines solar power and ultrasound
in one floating unit, providing continuous operation to help control algae and biofilm.

THE NEW 2026 DB-GLOBE FOR MINING PITS
Designed for algae control in mining pits and lagoons.
A separate irrigation-dam trial recorded a 98.3% reduction in algae cell count.
INTRODUCING THE MORE POWERFUL ALPHA DB-GLOBE
ALGAEFREE’s latest ultrasound technology combines advanced features for improved performance, efficiency and versatility.
Improved electrical conversion efficiency increases ultrasound output. Selected models offer enhanced communication capabilities, adjustable bandwidths and frequency settings, providing greater flexibility and control.
Built-in operational checks and error reporting help users monitor system function and identify faults.
The technology uses Critical Structure Resonance (CSR), designed to target susceptible algae, including green algae and cyanobacteria such as Oscillatoria and Anabaena. Finer frequency adjustments expand the available treatment settings.
Effectiveness depends on the organisms present, equipment settings, water conditions and installation.

BUILDING ON ALPHA’S EXPERIENCE SINCE 2016
Since their introduction in 2016, ALPHA QUATTRO systems have offered a broad range of discrete frequencies and bandwidth settings for algae management.

ALGAE AND BIOFILM CONTROL FOR MINING PITS AND WASTEWATER PLANTS
The ALPHA Industrial 4-Way transducer is designed to help manage algae and biofilm in industrial water systems, supporting cleaner equipment and reduced maintenance demands.
It offers a chemical-free approach to algae treatment as part of a wider water-management programme.

ALGAE CONTROL IN MINE DEWATERING PITS
Ultrasound can help manage algae in mine dewatering pits, reducing the algal material entering downstream treatment equipment, including reverse osmosis (RO) systems.
Mining wastewater, mine-impacted water and tailings water may contain contaminants that require treatment before reuse or environmental release.
Effective water management supports operational efficiency and responsible water use, particularly where mining operations share water resources with agriculture and local communities.
ALGAEFREE technology is designed to help control algae and biofilm as part of a broader water-treatment programme. It does not replace treatment for dissolved metals, salts or other mining contaminants.

ULTRASOUND AND CHEMICAL ALGAE CONTROL
Chemical algae treatments require careful selection, dosing and monitoring.
Ultrasound offers a physical, chemical-free approach to algae treatment that may help reduce reliance on chemical applications. Performance depends on the algae species, water conditions, system design and installation.
Some algae and cyanobacteria can change their position in the water column to access light and nutrients. This behaviour varies by species and should be considered when planning treatment coverage.

ALPHA 4-Ways — ALGAE AND BIOFILM MANAGEMENT
  • Susceptible green algae and blue-green algae (cyanobacteria)

  • Algae blooms in ponds, holding tanks and lagoons

  • Biofilm buildup on submerged surfaces

  • Algae-related filter and irrigation blockages

  • Poor water clarity associated with algae

  • Algae-related odours and maintenance demands

Performance depends on the organisms present, water conditions and installation.
Aeration, nutrient removal, sludge management and treatment of ammonia,
BOD or non-algal suspended solids require appropriate treatment processes.

WELCOME TO THE FUTURE

ALPHA ULTRASOUND FOR ALGAE AND BIOFILM CONTROL
The ALPHA ultrasound system is designed to help control susceptible algae and biofilm. Percentage-reduction claims should be supported by testing specific to the system, organisms and treatment conditions.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE TREATED ALGAE?
Algal material may settle, remain suspended or collect at the surface. It can be removed through filtration, skimming or vacuuming, depending on the water system.
Removing accumulated biomass helps reduce the organic matter left to decompose. Settling alone does not remove nutrients or confirm that the water is safe.

WHAT IS CAVITATION?
Cavitation is the formation and collapse of tiny bubbles caused by pressure changes in water. Their collapse can generate intense local forces that damage cells and, at sufficient intensity, nearby surfaces.

WHY DOES THE TREATMENT METHOD MATTER?
Treatment that damages toxin-producing cyanobacteria may release toxins into the surrounding water. Reduced algae counts or clearer water do not necessarily mean that toxins have been removed.
Whether an ultrasonic system produces cavitation depends on its acoustic output and operating conditions. A claim that ALPHA operates without cavitation should be supported by technical measurements.

WHAT IS BIOFILM?
Biofilm is a community of microorganisms attached to a surface within a protective, slimy matrix. It can develop on tank walls, pipes and other submerged surfaces and contribute to further fouling.
ALPHA is designed to help manage biofilm as part of a broader cleaning and water-treatment programme.
